Virgil Abloh reinterprets this classic item, taking inspiration directly from Alessi's
industrial DNA, assembling workshop tools to create the actual product. A design with a precise, brutal line, so exceptional that it succeeds in interacting with the domestic environment despite being inspired by a completely different context.

“Occasional Object” is a manifestation of a dialogue between Virgil Abloh and Alessi which focused on ideas of sharing and discussion, defined by the daily moments of our time. “Occasional Object” introduced design gestures from the world of utility into the fine dining context, as a means to re-contextualizing and progressing the associations of design languages and their place in our everyday life, experience and memory.

The world of mechanics, reinterpreted in this operation by the designer, lends a
contemporary touch to a traditional, classic item.
