From the workshop to the table: the essential cutlery set designed by Virgil Abloh unites the final product with the mechanical tools typical of his production, in a formal short- circuit with a strong poetic charge. Tools of conviviality, literally speaking, which trigger conversations, to build social interactions and relationships while we eat.
“Occasional Object” is a manifestation of a dialogue between Virgil Abloh and Alessi which focused on ideas of sharing and discussion, defined by the daily moments of our time. “Occasional Object” introduced design gestures from the world of utility into the fine dining context, as a means to re-contextualizing and progressing the associations of design languages and their place in our everyday life, experience and memory.
The world of mechanics, reinterpreted in this operation by the designer, lends a
contemporary touch to a traditional, classic item.
Steel is one of the most durable and resilient materials of all, eco-friendly throughout its life cycle and completely recyclable.
We recommend placing the candlestick on flat, heat-resistant surfaces, taking care not to leave it exposed to draughts or unattended..
